Movement Matters

When people experience back pain, their first instinct is often to rest. However from a chiropractic perspective, too much rest can actually make the problem worse. The spine is designed to move, and regular movement is essential for keeping the back healthy, flexible and strong.

Chiropractors often use the phrase “motion is lotion” because movement helps keep the joints mobile, improves circulation and nourishes the spinal discs that act as cushions between the vertebrae. Long periods of sitting or inactivity can lead to stiffness, muscle tension and increased discomfort.

Regular activity also strengthens the muscles that support the spine. Simple activities such as walking, stretching and swimming can improve posture, stability and overall spinal function.

At Pennant Hills Chiropractic, we encourage patients to keep moving wherever possible. Combined with chiropractic care, regular movement can play a vital role in reducing pain, improving mobility and supporting long term spinal health.
